VisiteFoz is an independent communication project created in March 2008. Today it is one of the leading producers of content and digital projects on the city of Foz do Iguaçu, intending to inspire tourists and residents.
I grew up living in Foz. So the project was created as a way to contribute to city development and the promotion of tourism. It has always been developed in a sustainable way and without generating costs.
Foz do Iguaçu is on the border with Paraguay and Argentina. For a long time, it was known mainly for “shopping in Paraguay” (a pop cultural way of referring to shopping in Ciudad del Este). With a diverse and integrated culture, the local tourist destination is remembered today by the Iguaçu Falls and the Itaipu Dam.
The writing of the content has always been provocative and questioning, on the aspects of belonging, locality, innovation. A tourist city creates an ephemeral environment for the locals as the emphasis is always on the “visitant”.
In 2020 we realigned the communication to raise the thought of marketing and ethical design, believing in non-consumption, non-violence, and non-exploitation of resources. Therefore, the content has been reformulated to defend the communication and tourism with a positive impact.
Also, in 2020 the site was redesigned, seeking to become lightweight, with fewer ads and more privacy.
Between March 2008 and July 2020, the site had 7,354,336 page views and 2,635,881 users.
